Drake’s Water Sign Woes

the astrological reasons why Drake sucks

Drake lost the beef. At this point his popularity feels like a psyop fueled by bots, but all that is beside the point. Today let’s talk about the astrological reasons why Drake sucks.

That’s not to say that Cancer and Scorpio suck, I have both in my big 3 and I kick ass. No signs suck, any astrologer who peddles that nonsense deserves your unfollow.

I’m talking about how every sign has pitfalls. Astrology is a practice of self-awareness. We need to hold our charts in their entirety. Each sign has things it’s really good at, strengths, and superpowers, AND each sign has weaknesses, knee-jerk behaviors that need to be tempered.

Very as above, so below.

Drake has a Scorpio sun and a Cancer moon, Water HEAVY.

When Water Signs Get Distorted

Water’s main bullet point is emotion. A slippery slope. When we feel safe, there is warmth and an openness, as opposed to when we feel threatened. Fear sets in, and survival instinct steps to the front. Water encapsulates the softness of healing and the depths of the abyss.

Drake’s Scorpio pitfalls

Obsession

Scorpio can get obsessed. It can take fixation to an unhealthy level. Its inclination to look deeper at the world makes its lens… intense.

Things Drake is obsessed with: his image (see: ab implants), being a celebrity (see: raised as a child star), the charts.

Things Drake should be obsessed with: the craft of writing.

Nemesis

Scorpio does best with a nemesis. It’s ruled by Mars, who is no stranger to a fight. Which, in many situations, can be a strength. In Drake’s case, it leads him to seeing enemies everywhere. He’s always talking about “no new friends”, and how suspicious he is. Let’s be honest, it’s not a great look.

Don’t believe me? Go type “Enemies” into your preferred streaming place. Then have yourself a little chuckle about how the first two lines of the first verse he’s rhyming the word ‘day’ with ‘day’.

Drake’s Cancer Pitfalls

Overly Sensitive

Cancer’s superpower of sensitivity can morph into a kind of self undoing. Being sensitive to the vibes is something not everyone can do, but when it is overly amplified, every bump in the road turns into a mountain. Drake sees problems where there are none. He feels slighted and flies off the handle.

Exhibit A, I would argue, is getting a tattoo of Lebron James on his body in the first place. That’s kinda wild. But when James was seen singing along to Not Like Us at the Pop Out during the beef with Kendrick, Drake took that shit personally.

Exhibit B is him turning around and removing said tattoo directly afterward. Drake, are you OKAY??

Passive Aggressive

The thing about Cancer is its need for connection and acceptance. When that need is unmet, Cancer tends lash out in its own crablike way - passive aggressively.

The thing about rap is that it’s about saying things with your chest. If you’re going to tippy toe around the point you’re trying to make you’re not really rapping. Drake IS the greatest of all time at something, and that’s the sneak diss.

His vague way of throwing shots is his way of staying a “nice” guy, I would guess this stems from the actor days and being a squeaky clean Degrassi star for so many years. Whatever the reason, it’s laughable to lean on hiding your meaning instead of confronting the issues you’re highlighting in your artistry.

this is a forty year old man. like, grow tf up??

All signs have unsavory tendencies. Anyone with heavy Cancer/Scorpio energy should be on the lookout for moments they unknowingly slip into these behaviors. Does this mean your Cancer friend is a passive aggressive bitch? No! (do never forget that Drake definitely is though). It DOES remind us that astrology can be as meaningful as we want it to be. Using it to learn what not to grow into can be just as impactful as learning about the superpowers, imo.

Combine all his pitfalls with a Leo-coded (his rising sign) ego trip and we’ve got an INSUFFERABLE person. A husk of an artist. And, lest we forget, someone who enjoys the company and conversation of teen girls far, far too much. It’s 2026, celebrity worship is out. Bullying celebrities is in!
